AI advisory › Law firms
When someone asks AI whether they need a lawyer, who does it name?
Legal questions start as plain questions: what happens after a DUI arrest, how a will differs from a trust, what a divorce costs. The audit shows whether the assistants answering them name your firm, use your pages, and describe your practice correctly.
The first answer is information, and the referral comes with it
Most people ask the legal question before they ask for a lawyer. The assistant explains the process, and often ends with names of firms or a directory. Firms whose pages answer those questions clearly are more likely to be read and shown as the source. Firms whose pages are thin get left to directories.
Many firms already write that material. The audit checks whether the assistants give the same explanation with your page as the source, or give it without your name. It reports what it saw. It does not claim an assistant copied anyone.
Accuracy carries professional weight
An assistant may say your firm handles matters it does not, list the wrong office, or call an attorney a specialist. Bar rules in many states limit who may be described as a specialist. The audit reports every statement made about your firm and your attorneys, checked against your own site, so you know what prospective clients are being told.
Directories carry much of the weight
For legal questions, assistants often lean on lawyer directories, state bar listings, ratings sites, and news coverage. The audit names the outside sources the assistants relied on and the firms named in your place.
The audit reports what AI assistants say. It is not legal advice and does not review your marketing for compliance with professional-conduct rules.
Questions prospective clients ask
Questions like these, asked without your name, show whether your firm is named and whether your pages are the source. Two or three ask about your firm by name.

What the audit shows a law firm
- Whether you are named. For questions in your practice areas and city, which of seven assistants name your firm or attorneys, link to you, or show your pages as the source.
- Whether your practice is described correctly. Practice areas, offices, attorneys, and any claims about credentials, checked against your own site.
- Where the answers came from. The directories, bar listings, and other sites the assistants relied on, and the firms they named instead.
- What your crawler rules allow. AI training, AI search, and user-requested fetches, shown apart, so you can keep client-facing articles readable and protect what you choose.
